A sum of Tk. 100 is divided among A, B and C. If A and B together receive Tk. 70, B and C together receive Tk. 50. Find the amount received by B.

Let the amounts received by them be A, B and C respectively. So, A + B + C = 100.
Now, A + B = 70
Again, B + C = 50
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
So, A + B + B + C = 70 + 50 [By addition]
or, 2B + A + C = 120
or, 2B + 100 - B = 120 [A + C = 100 - B]
or, 2B - B = 120 - 100
or, B = 20 TK
